Terms of Service for GetFTR Browser Extension

Get Full Text Research (“GetFTR”) is a product offered by Get Full Text Research, LLC (“We”, “us”, or “our”).

We are pleased to provide you GetFTR’s browser extensions/add-ons (the “Extension(s)”) that enriches your experience when using academic search and discovery applications on the web (“Intended Purpose”).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Extension, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Extension.

2. Unauthorized Use

Prohibited Actions: You may not use the Extension for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose, including but not limited to unauthorized access, tampering, or misuse of the Extension. Unauthorized use includes, but is not limited to, the following actions:

i. Accessing or attempting to access parts of the Extension that are not intended for public use.

ii. Tampering with, reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to gain unauthorized access to the source code of the Extension.

iii. Engaging in any activity that could interfere with, disrupt, or harm the Extension, its servers, or the networks connected to it.

iv. Sharing your user account with unauthorized individuals.

v. Using the Extension for any purpose that violates applicable laws, regulations, or the rights of others.

3. Intellectual Property

a. Ownership: All intellectual property and proprietary rights related to the Extension (including, but not limited to its source code, graphics, content, protocols, software, logos, and documentation), including, but not limited to, trademarks, copyright, and patents, are our exclusive property or that of our licensors.

b. License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Extension solely for its Intended Purpose. You may not reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works from the Extension.

4. Disclaimers

a. THE EXTENSION AND ALL MATERIALS CONTAINED THEREIN ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WARRANTIES OF TITLE, OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE; THE USE OF THE EXTENSION AND ALL MATERIALS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK; ACCESS TO THE EXTENSION MAY BE INTERRUPTED AND MAY NOT BE ERROR FREE; AND NEITHER US NOR ANYONE ELSE INVOLVED IN CREATING, PRODUCING OR DELIVERING THE EXTENSION, SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE EXTENSION AND ALL MATERIALS CONTAINED THEREIN.

b. Third-Party Materials: The Extension provides links to third-party websites, the ownership and control of which do not reside with us. All products, services, feeds, websites, and other content, including, but not limited to, data, links, articles, graphic or video messages, information, text, software, music, sound, graphics, or other materials made available or accessible through the Extension (collectively referred to as “Third-Party Materials”), are the exclusive responsibility of the entity or individual from whom they originate.

These Third-Party Materials may be governed by separate terms of service and privacy policies. By utilizing the Extension, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

(i) Your use of the Extension may expose you to Third-Party Materials that may be offensive, indecent, or objectionable.

(ii) We do not endorse, support, or express approval of any Third-Party Material.

(iii) We bear no responsibility or liability for any Third-Party Material, and you accept all associated damages, losses, and risks arising from your use of any Third-Party Material, including any reliance upon such Third-Party Material.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Extension at any time, with or without cause, and without notice.

7. Miscellaneous

a. If any portion of these Terms is deemed unlawful, void or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, these Terms as a whole shall not be deemed unlawful, void or unenforceable, but only that portion of the Terms that is unlawful, void or unenforceable shall be stricken from these Terms.
