Privacy Policy
This privacy policy describes our practices for handling your personal information on the Get Full Text Research (“GetFTR”) website or through any service that we operate or that integrates with the GetFTR solution and that refers or links to this privacy policy (the “Services”). This privacy policy may be supplemented by additional privacy statements, terms or notices provided to you.
1. Collection of Information
a. Information from website use. We automatically collect some or all of the following types of information when you visit the GetFTR website:
- Computer, device and connection information, such as Internet Protocol (IP) address; internet service provider; device and browser information, including your screen resolution and mobile device identifier; operating system, including language settings; and other standard log information
- Usage information, such as pages you visited, date and time stamp, referring and exit pages, and duration of visit
- Geographic location, such as information inferred from IP address.

b. Information you provide to us. When you sign up to register your interest , make a request for more information or otherwise contact us, we may collect some or all of the following:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Job Title
- Your organization’s name, type and postal address
- Your communication preferences
c. Information we obtain from other sources. We may receive contact details and other information about you from other sources, such as colleagues, social media networks and other publicly available resources, to validate or supplement the information we hold about you.
d. Information we collect from Integrators. We receive certain information from services which integrate with GetFTR (“Integrators”), such as IP address, identifiers of your organization and identifiers of the published content you are seeking to access, in order to determine and enable your access and entitlement to such published content. GetFTR does not receive information about your search terms or information about the articles you view. 2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide you access to and use of the Services
- To fulfill your requests
- To communicate with you
- To analyze and improve the Service
- To help keep the Services effective and secure
- For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect your information or pursuant to your consent
3. Information Sharing
Depending on the Services provided, we may share your information with:
Service providers: We share your information with service providers that help us with specialized services, including IT, hosting, communications, billing, customer service, security and performance monitoring, website analytics and marketing.
Publishers: To verify your organization’s entitlement to published content, we share certain information received from Integrators with publishers that participate in the GetFTR collaboration (“Publishers”), such as IP address, identifiers of your organization and identifiers of the published content you are seeking to access. We stipulate that Publishers must not use this information, either alone or in combination with any other data or information source, for the purposes of tracking, analyzing, profiling or contacting you.
For legal reasons or to protect our users and services: We may disclose information as necessary to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, law enforcement requests, legal claims or government inquiries, detect fraud, and to protect and defend the rights, interests, safety and security of Get Full Text Research, LLC, our members, users, or the public.
In connection with a commercial transfer: We may share your information in connection with a corporate transaction, such as the sale of the Services, a merger, consolidation, asset sale, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy.
Otherwise with your consent: We may share information for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information or pursuant to your consent.
4. Security
We have reasonable measures in place intended to protect information against the loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access and alteration.
5. Children’s Information
We do not knowingly collect or store information from children under the age of 13, unless permitted by law, or target the Service to children under 13.
6. Your Communication Preferences
You may opt out of our email list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email or by contacting us at support@getfulltextresearch.com. We reserve the right to notify you of changes or updates to the Service when necessary.
7. Data Retention
We strive to keep our processing activities with respect to your information as limited as possible. Your information will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out above, in accordance with applicable laws.
8. For California Residents
The following section applies to California residents pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”). Terms used but not defined in this section shall have the meaning ascribed to them in the CCPA.
a. Personal Information Collected. In the past twelve months, we collected the following categories of personal information:
Identifiers, such as real name, postal address, telephone or mobile contact number, email address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, IP address or other similar identifiers
Personal information as defined in the California customer records law, such as name and contact information
Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as browsing history, online behavior, and interactions with our and other websites and systems
Geolocation data, such as device location
Professional or employment-related information, such as job title and organization with which you are employed or affiliated
We collect this personal information directly from you and from other categories of sources such as: our members; the organization with which you are employed or affiliated; our members, our service providers, colleagues, social media networks and other publicly available resources, and Integrators. We may use the information we collect for business or commercial purposes, including: to provide you access to and use of the Services, fulfill your requests, communicate with you, to analyze and improve the Service, to help keep the Service effective and secure, and for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect your information or pursuant to your consent.
b. Personal Information Disclosed. In the past twelve months, we disclosed the above categories of personal information to our service providers, Publishers, and others when required by law or to protect our users or Services, as part of a corporate transaction, or with your consent.
c. Sale of Personal Information. We do not sell personal information to third parties within the scope of the application of the CCPA.
d. Consumer Rights. Subject to certain exceptions, you have the right to request that we provide you with access to and/or a copy of personal information we hold about you and delete personal information we have about you. You also have a right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights under the CCPA. You may exercise your rights by emailing support@getfulltextresearch.com. To protect your privacy and security, we may verify your identity before granting these requests. You may be entitled, in accordance with applicable law, to submit a request through an authorized agent subject to proof of identity and authorization.

With respect to personal data subject to European and certain other privacy and data protection laws, we process: information you provide to us to meet our legitimate business interests, including to respond to your request for information, or to meet our legal obligations; and information we collect automatically as necessary for us to provide the website, operate the Services and for our legitimate business interests.

Your information may be processed in your region or another country where we, the Publishers and our service providers maintain servers and facilities, including in the United States. We take steps, including through contracts and other additional measures, to maintain an adequate level of data protection wherever your information is located and in a manner consistent with the standards of protection required under applicable law.

Under certain European and other privacy and data protection laws, as may be applicable, you may have the right to access, rectify, port, and erase your information, as well as the right to restrict and object to processing of your information. If you wish to exercise these rights, please submit your request in writing to support@getfulltextresearch.com. We will respond to your request consistent with applicable laws. To protect your privacy and security, we may require you to verify your identity.
12. Updates
We will update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. If we make any material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by other means.
