IOPP integrates GetFTR retraction and errata service to further improve research integrity
Get Full Text Research (GetFTR) is pleased to announce that its retraction and errata feature has been adopted by IOP Publishing (IOPP) and integrated into its article reference on its content platform, IOPscience. This enhancement aims to keep researchers informed about critical updates to scientific content at the point of discovery, reinforcing the importance of transparency and scientific integrity.
The integration marks a significant step forward in supporting researchers by flagging retractions and corrections directly on article references. When a published article undergoes an update or is retracted, readers will now see clear indicators, such as ‘Retraction’ or ‘Update,’ linked to detailed timelines of retraction or correction information on the article reference. This feature ensures that researchers always have access to the most accurate and up-to-date versions of scientific articles.
Here is an example of how the retraction button appears on the reference list:
Clicking on the Retraction button takes the reader to a document status page which gives more information and a document timeline.
Dianne Benham, Director at GetFTR, highlighted the significance of this collaboration:
“Ensuring researchers have access to the most accurate and reliable scientific content is at the core of GetFTR’s mission. By delivering retraction and errata information to IOPP, enabling them to flag directly in IOPscience, we are.promoting transparency and trust, key pillars for research integrity. We hope our other partners will follow suit and incorporate this feature into their platforms”
Kim Eggleton, Head of Peer Review and Research Integrity at IOPP, added:
“Transparent communication about the reliability and reproducibility of published research is essential for the scientific community. By embedding retraction and errata information directly within articles, we’re giving our researchers streamlined access to the most precise, up-to-date, and trusted content.”
This integration underscores both GetFTR’s and IOPP’s shared commitment to supporting the scientific community through innovation, ensuring that research remains a trusted foundation for knowledge advancement.
