Streamlined access to scholarly content with the GetFTR browser extension
We are delighted to share an update on the GetFTR Browser Extension. This service works with major discovery resources such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Web of Science and EBSCO Discovery Service, signaling to researchers the content they are entitled to read, right at the point of discovery. No more hitting paywalls or “click and pray”, as researchers benefit from fast access to authoritative, up-to-date research.
We’re looking to increase participation, so please share this news as widely as you can with colleagues and patrons.
The browser extension can be installed from the Chrome Store and will immediately help researchers benefit from streamlined discovery and access to scholarly articles and book chapters.
The service has been running for a couple of months and we’ve had lots of great suggestions. Here are some of the new features we’ve implemented and feedback we’ve received.
- Fast links to previously accessed content, directly from your pinned extension
- Your institution or OA indicator added, to signal how content has been made available
- More discovery services supported, with more to come
