ASM and RSNA Integrate GetFTR to Enhance Access from Article References
The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) have become the latest publishers to incorporate Get Full Text Research (GetFTR) links within their article references. This new feature allows researchers to quickly identify which cited articles are available to them, either through institutional subscriptions, or because the content is open access, or freely available.
For researchers navigating citations through article references, the uncertainty of access can lead to frustrating paywalls or dead ends. By integrating GetFTR, both ASM and RSNA aim to streamline the research experience, supporting one click access to relevant content.
“At ASM, supporting researchers in their work is of crucial importance to us,” said Melissa Junior, Executive Publisher. “By integrating GetFTR with article references, we are enhancing the ability for researchers to identify and access the articles they are entitled to read. This integration empowers the research community by streamlining access and promoting efficient use of resources, helping them advance their work with confidence and ease.”
RSNA echoed this sentiment, highlighting the value of this feature for its members.
Bethanne Wilson, Director: Journal Business and Operations said.
“By implementing GetFTR, we are taking another step toward reducing barriers to critical research, helping radiologists and healthcare professionals stay at the forefront of medical knowledge and innovation.”
The integration was implemented by Atypon, the publishers’ content platform partner, as part of its ongoing commitment to helping publishers maximize the benefits of GetFTR.
