GetFTR supports ScienceDirect pilot to improve research discovery and access

Today has seen the announcement of a ScienceDirect pilot, with several publishers, which will seek to better understand how publishers can work together to help researchers find and access content more easily. During the six-month pilot, researchers will be able to search and browse over 70,000 articles across a number of journals in Organic Chemistry and Transportation from the participating publishers. GetFTR plays an important role in this initiative, providing a trusted solution for entitlement checks which help improve ease of access and discovery for users. GetFTR’s real time entitlement checks mean researchers can more easily access content that their institution has made available to them, whether they are on or off campus, and whether they are searching the publishers platform directly or using other search and discovery tools – in this case via ScienceDirect. We are incredibly proud to support the pilot, as it demonstrates again to our community and partners how GetFTR can be applied in different settings to improve researchers’ discovery and access experience.
