More Researchers Benefit from GetFTR Links to Trusted Content
The GetFTR Browser Extension signals the availability of full-text on all websites, including search engines, social media, new outlets, reference sites, library discovery resources and many more.
Where a DOI is located, and the researcher is entitled to the content via an institution subscription or Open Access, a GetFTR indicator signals that full text is available, and a smart link provides access to the trusted content.
More recently, information about retractions and updates is provided to the researcher at the point of discovery, to ensure they’re fully informed ahead of accessing the full text.
Adding GetFTR to all websites, and information on retractions and updates, has led to a big increase in users clicking on GetFTR links. The total number of GetFTR links clicked has doubled in Q3 compared to Q2.
We also measured a 20% month-on-month increase in users installing the GetFTR Browser Extension, which is freely available from Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Firefox stores.
Please try out the extension yourself, and promote to your network to ensure they’re accessing trusted content.
