GetFTR Links Added to All Websites

The GetFTR Browser Extension now adds GetFTR links (and retraction and errata information) to all websites where the user’s institution entitles them to the full text, or content is open access or freely available. 

A smaller GetFTR button will appear, as shown in the examples below for Wikipedia references, The Washington Post and LinkedIn.

We encourage librarians and publishers to promote the GetFTR Browser extension so that researchers can benefit from streamlined access to trusted scholarly content. The GetFTR Browser Extension is free and available from the Chrome, Edge and Firefox stores.

We have a number of resources to help you promote the service, including an animation showing how easy it is to install!

Our Fastest Entitlement API 

The latest GetFTR API provides the fastest entitlement decisions to date. Discovery tools receive an entitlement decision in around 150 milliseconds, which is pretty quick considering GetFTR currently processes more than 100 million entitlement decisions per week!

New Partners

 We welcome IEEE, Becaris and RSNA as our latest publishers, taking us to nearly 70% of all published articles accessible via GetFTR. We encourage all publishers to partner with GetFTR to ensure researchers are directed to the most up-to-date version of content, and are alerted to retractions and errata at the point of discovery.

We also welcome RSNA as an integrator on references, improving onward journeys for their readers.

APA plans to come onboard as a publisher, making their content more discoverable and accessible. They will also integrate on article references, and display retraction and errata information. Find out more in our new case study on the value that GetFTR provides to APA.

Support for Syndication

GetFTR is used in syndication arrangements, and now supports the production of COUNTER compliant reports. Please get in touch if you’d like to hear more.
