Tracy Gardner joins GetFTR as Head of Marketing to amplify its value proposition with the academic community
GetFTR, a cross-industry initiative designed to streamline the researcher’s online journey from discovery to access, is pleased to welcome Tracy Gardner to the team.
Hylke Koers, Program Director for GetFTR, commented
“Tracy brings a wealth of marketing knowledge and experience to the GetFTR team. GetFTR has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2019 and has now reached a level of maturity, supporting multiple use cases, that requires a dedicated marketing professional to amplify the benefits it brings to publishers, discovery sites and the research community at large. Tracy is well placed to deliver this.”
Tracy began her career at CatchWord, the world’s first online journals platform, followed by roles at CABI Publishing, Renew Consultants, and most recently TBI Communications.
Tracy brings to the role an extensive 25-year career in the scholarly communications sector, marked by her in depth knowledge as a consultant collaborating closely with societies, publishers, librarians and intermediaries. Notably, Tracy has significant expertise in the area of Discovery and during her time at Renew Consultants developed and co-authored a series of research reports entitled “How Readers Discover Content in Scholarly Journals”. The research delivered valuable insights into the discovery behaviours of researchers worldwide, from all sectors and subject disciplines. She also designed and delivered training courses on the same topic for publishers and librarians.
On joining GetFTR, Tracy said
“I have been helping publishers improve the discoverability of their content for much of my career, I am therefore delighted to be working with the GetFTR team whose mission aligns with this objective and which delivers valuable improvements to the researcher experience.
Tracy joins the GetFTR core team consisting of Hylke Koers, Program Director; Dianne Benham, Product Director; and Heather Staines, Business Development.
